EXTERIOR DECORATING
Exterior woodwork has to put up with a lot. When it’s not being lashed with wind and rain, then the sun is beating down on it or plants and animals are generally making a mess. All of which means that it can start to degrade over time. Once water starts to penetrate the wood, it doesn’t take long before it starts to rot.
This can lead to costly repairs or even replacements. That’s why it’s a good idea to make sure that any exterior woodwork is always well maintained, with regular painting and treatments ensuring maximum protection for your home.
This is especially true if they’re made of wood, which can over time suffer from water ingress, damage and insects causing long-term problems that are expensive to fix. That’s why it’s so important to
make sure they’re looked after with regular painting or other appropriate treatments.
Whether you have sash, casement or transom windows, the exterior will be exposed to rain, sun and the other elements. Inside, they will need to deal with condensation, handling and more. All of which means that they can really start to show their age and, if left untreated, can start to rot or soften.
That’s why we offer a specialist window service, repairing damage to the wood, stripping and sanding and painting using the appropriate high-quality products.
If you have exterior walls that are rendered, pebble dashed or are exposed brickwork, then exterior masonry paint can provide an essential barrier against the elements. Masonry paint is designed to prevent water ingress from causing damage to render and brickwork, which over time can be damaged by moisture and need to be removed, repaired or replaced. This can be very expensive, but a regular coat of good- quality paint can prevent a lot of the damage.
The exterior of any building is made up of a number of design and build elements. As well as the exterior walls and windows, there are other aspects that cover joins, remove water or add layers or protection against the elements.
In order to ensure that these are in top working condition and offering the maximum amount of protection, you need to be sure your soffits, facias, cladding and guttering are well maintained. Of course, this is easier said than done, as they are often found at height, which is where we come in at Matt's Bespoke Painting and Decorating.
We have the specialist equipment, knowledge and training to repair and renovate all exterior aspects of the building. So, if your facias or gutters need some attention, either through repair or a fresh coat of paint, get in touch with a member of our team to find out how we can help.
